The official chambers of the queens, 19 royal children were born here including the future King Louis XV and King Philip V of Spain. Marie Therese (the first child of King Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette), Marie Leczinska (the Queen of Louis XV), the Dauphiness of Bavaria, and the Duchess of Burgundy all died here. It is through the door hangins left under the bed that Marie Antoinette escaped a crowd of Revolutionary rioters on October 6, 1789
